Discovering beauty,
whimsy, queerness, and joy through clay.
Artist Statement
I am a self-taught ceramic artist whose practice explores self-discovery, creative liberation, and the stories we tell ourselves about who we are allowed to become. Raised to follow a traditional path, I spent years suppressing my artistic instincts before finding my way back to creativity through clay. Ceramics became more than a medium—it became a way to reconnect with myself and a community that encouraged curiosity, play, and authenticity.
I create functional, wheel-thrown ceramics that merge everyday utility with whimsical and colorful imagery. My work is decorated with floating women, cosmic landscapes, dreamers, and imagined worlds, inviting moments of wonder and reflection within ordinary rituals. I am drawn to the tension between functionality and fantasy, creating pieces that are meant to be used while also carrying stories that encourage people to slow down, imagine, and connect.
As a queer woman, my work is rooted in the belief that creativity can be an act of reclamation. Each piece reflects my commitment to living authentically, embracing joy, and redefining success on my own terms. As I relocate from Seattle to the UK, I look forward to building new creative connections and continuing to explore how ceramics can foster belonging, curiosity, and shared human experience.
